iPhone 18 Pro or Pixel 11 Pro? The Best Phone for Your Money Right Now
Pixel 11 Pro vs iPhone 18 Pro: $1,099 against $1,199. We compare chip, camera, battery and updates, and say who should buy which phone.

The Pixel 11 Pro vs iPhone 18 Pro choice is the one most people face this autumn. Both are 6.3-inch phones with three rear cameras and seven years of life ahead of them.
However, they are not equal. The Pixel 11 Pro starts at $1,099 (about Rs 96,000). The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 (about Rs 1,05,000). So is the iPhone worth the extra $100?
We have not tested either phone ourselves. Instead, this verdict rests on published specs and on reviewers who have used them. Every number below links to its source.
The Short Version
- Price: Pixel 11 Pro from $1,099, iPhone 18 Pro from $1,199. Both start at 256GB.
- Speed: The iPhone is far faster. In fact, last year’s iPhone already beat the new Tensor G6 in benchmarks.
- Photos: The Pixel takes the better still photos and zooms further.
- Video: The iPhone wins clearly, with ProRes RAW and Apple Log 2.
- Battery: The Pixel has the bigger cell, but no fair head-to-head test exists yet.
- Our call: Buy the Pixel for photos and value. Buy the iPhone for speed, video and gaming. Do not switch platforms for either one.
Price and Storage
First, the money. Engadget lists the Pixel 11 Pro from $1,099 and the iPhone 18 Pro from $1,199. Both start with 256GB of storage.
Higher tiers widen the gap. Droid Life’s price list shows the Pixel at $1,219 and $1,449 for bigger models. Meanwhile, the iPhone goes to $1,399, $1,799 and $2,399. Only Apple sells a 2TB phone.
Both phones also cost more than last year. For example, BGR notes the Pixel 11 Pro XL is $100 dearer than the Pixel 10 Pro XL, with less RAM.
Pixel 11 Pro | iPhone 18 Pro | |
|---|---|---|
Starting price | $1,099 | $1,199 |
Storage options | 256GB to 1TB | 256GB to 2TB |
Chip | Tensor G6 (3nm) | A20 Pro (2nm) |
RAM | 12GB or 16GB | 12GB |
Battery | 4,850mAh | 4,056mAh or 4,288mAh |
Wired charging | 30W | 60W |
Weight | 204g | 211g |
Updates | 7 years | iOS 27, about 6 to 7 years |
Speed: The iPhone 18 Pro Wins Easily
This is the biggest gap between them. The iPhone 18 Pro runs the A20 Pro, built on a 2nm process. Apple also added a larger vapor chamber for cooling, and BGR reports a claimed 40% gain in sustained speed.
By contrast, the Tensor G6 still trails. In BGR’s tests, the Pixel 11 Pro XL scored 2,739 single-core and 7,586 multi-core in Geekbench 6. Last year’s iPhone 17 Pro Max scored 3,756 and 9,727.
In other words, the old iPhone beats the new Pixel. Its graphics score was also less than half a Snapdragon rival’s.
Does that matter day to day? Mostly, no. BGR found the Pixel fast in normal use. Still, under heavy multitasking it saw dropped frames, app hangs and a hot back panel. That happened only a handful of times in two weeks, though.
Camera: Pixel for Photos, iPhone for Video
On paper, the cameras look close. Gizmochina’s spec sheet lists a 50MP main, 48MP ultrawide and 48MP 5x zoom on the Pixel. The iPhone has three 48MP cameras, with a 4x zoom.
In practice, the Pixel takes the better stills. BGR called its main camera possibly the best it has used on any Android phone. It also rated Pixel stills roughly even with the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
However, the long zoom claim needs care. Pro Zoom reaches 120x, but BGR found results unreliable past about 80x. At full stretch, it even drew a statue’s head backwards.
Video is a different story. The iPhone records 4K Dolby Vision at up to 120 frames per second. In addition, it offers ProRes RAW and Apple Log 2 for serious editing. Even BGR, which praised the Pixel camera, gave video to the iPhone.
The iPhone also gets a variable-aperture main camera, according to Droid Life. That lets you change depth of field by hand, much like a real camera.
Battery and Charging
Here, the Pixel has the bigger cell. It packs 4,850mAh. Meanwhile, Gizmochina lists the iPhone at 4,056mAh or 4,288mAh, depending on the market.
The makers’ own claims point the same way. Google rates the Pixel at more than 30 hours of use. Apple claims up to 24 hours for the iPhone 18 Pro. Yet, as Engadget points out, the two companies test in different ways. So treat those numbers as a hint, not a result.
Real use is less dramatic. BGR got about seven hours of screen time a day from the larger Pixel 11 Pro XL. It called that solid rather than impressive.
Charging favours the iPhone. Apple claims 50% in about 15 minutes with a wired charger. By comparison, Gizmochina says the Pixel 11 Pro reaches 55% in 30 minutes. Both support 25W magnetic wireless charging.
Software and Updates
Both phones will last. Google promises seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates, per Droid Life. Apple does not publish a fixed number, but iPhones usually get six to seven years.
The real question is which system you already use. If your photos, messages and watch live on one side, switching costs more than the $100 gap. That is also Engadget’s view: neither phone gives a strong reason to change sides.
Still, one difference is worth knowing. Some of the Pixel’s newest AI features are US-only at launch. For instance, BGR says Proactive Assistance is not offered in the UK.
Which One Should You Buy?
Buy the Pixel 11 Pro if you mostly shoot photos, want the longest zoom and like saving $100. It is the better value for anyone already on Android.
Buy the iPhone 18 Pro if you play games, edit video or keep a phone for many years under heavy use. Its chip is a full generation ahead, and that gap will matter more in year five than in year one.
Wait if you want the Pixel but not at $1,099. Holiday sales are only weeks away. So unless your current phone is failing, we would hold out for $999 or less.
Skip both if you own a Pixel 10 Pro or an iPhone 17 Pro. Neither upgrade is big enough. Our iPhone 18 Pro vs iPhone 17 Pro comparison and Pixel 11 vs Pixel 10 comparison explain why.
Our own pick? For most people, the Pixel 11 Pro. It takes better photos for less money. But if speed or video matters to you, the iPhone is worth the extra $100.
Prices in India
The gap is far wider in India. The iPhone 18 Pro costs Rs 1,64,900 for 256GB, while Gizmochina lists the Pixel 11 Pro at around Rs 1,20,000.
That makes the gap about Rs 45,000, not $100. As a result, the Pixel is the much easier choice for Indian buyers. Our Pixel 11 Pro vs Pixel 11 guide covers its latest bank offers.

Two things are still unknown. First, no lab has yet run the same battery test on both phones. Second, BGR’s launch review found a camera focus bug on the Pixel at launch. Check that a software update has fixed it before you buy. We will update this page when either changes.
