OnePlus 16 Price in India Could Top Rs 90,000: How to Avoid a Painful Money Mistake

The OnePlus 16 price in India is tipped near Rs 90,000, but last year's pattern points to about Rs 1.1 lakh. Who should wait, buy or skip.

The OnePlus 16 price in India is tipped at about Rs 90,000. OnePlus has not confirmed that figure, and it has not confirmed an India launch either.

Still, the number matters today. The OnePlus 15, a year older, sells for Rs 84,999 on Amazon. So the newer phone may cost only about Rs 5,000 more.

Here is what is official, what is only a tip, and what we would do with our money this week.

The Short Version

  • Tipped India price: about Rs 90,000 for 12GB + 256GB. It is not official.
  • China price: about Rs 86,000 converted, for the same memory.
  • Tipped launch window: from the second week of November 2026 to early 2027.
  • Best bit: a 9,000mAh battery and a 200MP main camera.
  • Catch: charging drops to 100W, and the software is likely to be ColorOS.
  • Our call: do not buy a OnePlus 15 at Rs 84,999. Wait for this price.

OnePlus 16 Price in India: What the Reports Say

Two reports land in nearly the same place. TelecomTalk expects Rs 89,900 for the base model.

Similarly, Digit says early reports point to around Rs 90,000. Both call the figure speculation.

The China price gives us a sanity check. Gizbot converts the base model to about Rs 85,850, and the top 16GB + 1TB model to about Rs 1,21,650.

However, a conversion is not an Indian price. Import costs and GST usually push the local figure higher. So Rs 90,000 would be a modest markup, and we would treat it as the best case.

Compare that with last year. The OnePlus 15 launched at Rs 72,999 in November 2025. A Rs 89,900 price would therefore be a jump of Rs 16,901, or about 23 percent.

OnePlus 16 Launch Date: Three Different Answers

OnePlus has not announced a date. We also found no official India teaser as of 2 November. Meanwhile, the reports disagree with one another.

  • Second week of November: TelecomTalk’s expectation, based on software testing and last year’s timing.
  • Late 2026 or early 2027: Digit’s reading of the usual OnePlus schedule.
  • December or early 2027: an earlier tip we covered in our OnePlus 16 vs OnePlus 15 comparison.

There is one real clue, though. Tipster Abhishek Yadav says OnePlus is testing global and Indian software builds under three model numbers, as Digit reports. That suggests preparation, but it does not prove a launch.

In short, we would plan for a wait of a few weeks. It could also stretch to about three months.

Why Rs 90,000 Would Be Such Good Value

The price only means something next to the rivals. So here is how a Rs 90,000 OnePlus 16 would sit against other flagships. Only the first row and the iQOO row are tips or estimates.

Phone
India price
Battery
Status
OnePlus 16
About Rs 90,000 (tip)
9,000mAh

iQOO 16
About Rs 1,00,000 (tip)

OPPO Find X10
Rs 1,39,999
8,000mAh
On sale
Galaxy S26 Ultra
Rs 1,39,999
5,000mAh
On sale

That gap is the whole argument. At Rs 90,000, the OnePlus 16 would undercut the Find X10 and the S26 Ultra by about Rs 50,000. In addition, it would carry the biggest battery of the four.

Those two rival prices come from TelecomTalk’s comparison, and they match our OPPO Find X10 coverage. The iQOO figures come from GSMArena’s report, which says that phone may arrive around 15 to 17 December.

Of course, the argument falls apart if the tip is wrong. At Rs 1,00,000 or more, the OnePlus 16 is simply one more expensive phone.

OnePlus 16 vs OnePlus 15: What Rs 5,000 Buys

This is the decision most buyers face this week. The OnePlus 15 now costs Rs 84,999 on Amazon, Gizbot reported on 30 October. OnePlus’s own site listed Rs 85,999 when Notebookcheck last checked.

The OnePlus 16 specs here come from Gizbot’s launch report and Digit. The Indian model could differ, because OnePlus has not confirmed any India specs.

Even so, an extra 1,700mAh and a newer chip are worth far more than Rs 5,000. That is why we would not pay Rs 84,999 for last year’s phone today.

The Catch Nobody Puts in the Headline

First, the phone is not better on every line. Wired charging drops from 120W to 100W, and the telephoto zoom is slightly shorter. Neither is a dealbreaker, but both are real steps back.

Second, the software is changing. The China model runs ColorOS 17, and OnePlus has already started moving the OnePlus 15 to ColorOS in India, as we explain in our OnePlus Android 17 update post.

So expect ColorOS here too, although OnePlus has not said so. If OxygenOS is the reason you buy OnePlus, try ColorOS on a friend’s phone first.

Finally, a cheaper option may not rescue you. The OnePlus 16R is tipped at Rs 70,000 to Rs 75,000, so waiting for the R model may save less than you hope.

Who Should Buy, Wait or Skip

Wait if you want a flagship and can hold on until January. This covers most readers. At about Rs 90,000 we would buy the OnePlus 16 on launch day.

Buy the OnePlus 15 only if your phone has died and you cannot wait. Even then, aim for the Prime and Amazon Pay ICICI card offer, which Gizbot says brings it to about Rs 80,750.

Skip the OnePlus 16 if you already own a OnePlus 15 or the price lands above Rs 1,00,000. At that level, the iQOO 16 and others become a fair fight.

That is what we would do. We would keep our money for now, set a price limit of Rs 1,00,000, and walk away above it.
