Pixel 11: The Better Pixel Camera Has One Painful Catch, With a Cheaper Fix

Our Pixel 11 verdict: a 25-hour battery test, 7 years of updates and a better camera, but a chip that trails rivals. Who should buy, wait or skip.

Our Pixel 11 verdict starts with a number: the phone lasted 25 hours and 25 minutes in Expert Reviews’ video battery test. That is about three hours more than the Pixel 10, and the battery grew by only 15mAh.

That small fact explains the whole phone. Google improved a lot of things a little, but it did not fix the one thing that people keep criticising. So here is our Pixel 11 verdict, built from the reviews we trust.

We have not used this phone ourselves. Therefore, everything below rests on published specs, lab tests and reviewer findings, and we name the source each time. Where reviewers disagree, we say so.

The Short Version

  • It is a very good everyday phone. Its screen, cameras and software are all strong, and Google promises 7 years of updates.
  • The chip is the catch. The Tensor G6 is about 15% faster than last year’s chip in single-core tests, but it still trails the Galaxy S26 and the iPhone 17.
  • Battery and charging improved. For example, charging reaches 55% in 30 minutes, and wireless charging now runs at up to 25W.
  • Upgrading from a Pixel 10 is not worth it. Although the gains are real, they are small.
  • Our pick: buy it if you are coming from a Pixel 9 or older, and pay the street price, not the launch price.
  • Skip it if you play demanding games.

What the Pixel 11 Actually Is

The Pixel 11 is Google’s smaller flagship, with a 6.3-inch OLED screen. According to FoneArena’s review, it runs at 120Hz and peaks at 3,000 nits. It weighs 197g and carries an IP68 rating.

Inside is the Tensor G6 on a 3nm process, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The battery is 4,985mAh.

However, BGR points out that Google reused the Pixel 10 screen. It is not an LTPO panel, so it cannot slow down to save power the way pricier screens do.

That is the pattern across this phone. In fact, most of the change is under the surface.

The Numbers That Matter

Here is how the Pixel 11 compares with the Pixel 10 on the things a buying decision turns on. The Pixel 11 figures come from the reviews we linked. The Pixel 10 battery size comes from Expert Reviews.

Two lines deserve a note. First, the Pixel 10 battery-test figure is our arithmetic from Expert Reviews’ “about three hours more” claim, so treat it as approximate. Second, our sources do not give the Pixel 10’s wired speed, so we left it blank rather than guess.

Camera: The Main Reason to Upgrade

The main camera is the clearest gain. It uses a larger 48MP sensor that Google says collects 56% more light. Expert Reviews calls the results crisp and punchy, with wide dynamic range and strong night shots.

The 5x telephoto is the reviewers’ favourite feature. BGR names it as its favourite, and FoneArena calls it improved. Expert Reviews, however, lists the lens as unchanged from the Pixel 10. So we cannot tell you with confidence how much better it is.

All three agree on one limit. Zoom beyond 5x relies on AI, and at 30x BGR sees obvious artifacts. Expert Reviews says quality at full reach is “not amazing”.

The 13MP ultra-wide is fine but soft toward the edges. It also has no macro mode, according to BGR.

For most people, this is a very good camera. It is not the best Pixel camera, because the Pro models keep the sharper telephoto.

Performance: The Painful Catch

This is where the Pixel 11 loses points. For instance, according to Expert Reviews’ Geekbench 6 tests, the Pixel 11 is 15% faster than the Pixel 10 in single-core and 8% faster in multi-core. Those are modest gains.

The gap to rivals, however, is larger. In multi-core scores, the Galaxy S26 is 64% ahead and the iPhone 17 is 49% ahead.

Does that matter in daily use? Mostly not, because FoneArena found the phone smooth and lag-free for everyday tasks. Even so, BGR saw frame drops when it ran navigation, music and a hotspot together.

Gaming is the real weakness. FoneArena measured a 3DMark stress score of 78.2%, which means the chip loses about a fifth of its peak graphics speed under sustained load. BGR cites a similar figure of about 79%. There is no vapour chamber, so heavy games warm the phone up.

Therefore, if you play Call of Duty or Genshin Impact for hours, look elsewhere.

Battery and Charging: A Quiet Win

The battery is the best surprise. Indeed, a 25-hour video loop is a strong result for a compact phone.

Real use is more modest. BGR got about seven hours of screen-on time on a busy day of camera use, navigation and hotspot. The reviewer still had charge left at night, but guessed a second full day would not work.

Charging is quick, too. Expert Reviews measured 0 to 55% in 30 minutes and a full charge in about 1 hour 15 minutes. Wireless charging at 25W is a real step up, and the built-in magnets work with Qi2.2 accessories.

Software and Updates

The Pixel 11 ships with Android 17 and, per FoneArena, no bloatware. Google promises 7 years of Android updates and security patches.

That promise is the strongest reason to keep this phone for a long time. As a result, a phone bought today stays supported into 2033.

One complaint comes from BGR. Gemini is woven deeply into the software, and there is no single switch to turn it off. Some buyers will love that, while others will not.

Pixel 11 Verdict: Who Should Buy, Wait or Skip

Buy it if you hold a Pixel 9 or an older phone. FoneArena calls it a “future-proof daily driver” for that group. You get a better screen, a better camera, faster charging and years of updates.

Wait if you want the best zoom or a sharper screen. The Pro models fix both, but they cost more. Also, hold off if the full launch price tempts you, because the street price is already lower (see the India section below).

Skip it if you own a Pixel 10. The gains are real, but they do not justify the cost of switching. BGR’s own advice is blunt: it is easy to recommend and hard to get excited about.

Skip it if you game heavily. The chip throttles, and rivals are well ahead.

Consider a cheaper Pixel 10 if you want the same design and the same software promise for less. You give up the larger sensor, the faster wireless charging and the 256GB base storage.

Pixel 11 Price in Rupees, and Where to Buy in India

Prices checked on 4 November 2026. They move quickly, so check again before you pay.

The Pixel 11 launched at Rs 89,999 for 256GB, according to FoneArena. The 512GB model costs Rs 1,04,999.

Flipkart’s listing shows Rs 89,999 with a Rs 12,000 bank offer, which brings it to Rs 77,999. The page does not state which cards qualify, so confirm that at checkout.

On 4 September, Cashify reported a start price of Rs 73,999. That deal depended on an exchange. We could not confirm it today.

For comparison, Flipkart’s Pixel 10 listing shows Rs 74,999, with a Rs 4,700 bank offer. That works out to about Rs 70,299 by our arithmetic.

So the real gap between the two phones is about Rs 7,700. That is the cheaper fix in our headline: do not pay Rs 89,999. At Rs 77,999 the Pixel 11 is a fair deal. At Rs 89,999 it is not.

The Bottom Line

The Pixel 11 is a better phone than its chip suggests. It has a good camera, a long update promise and a battery that lasts longer than the numbers imply.

Still, it plays it safe. Our Pixel 11 vs Pixel 10 comparison shows how little separates them, and our Pixel 11 vs Pixel 11 Pro piece covers what the extra money buys. If you are weighing it against Apple, see Pixel 11 vs iPhone 17.

What we still do not know is how the phone behaves after a year of use. We have not held it, and no reviewer has yet tested the long-term battery. We will update this piece if that changes.
