The vivo X500 Pro Max price in India is not official yet. However, reports put it at Rs 1.3 lakh or more, and vivo’s global launch is set for 27 October.

That matters if you are about to buy the vivo X300 Pro. It now costs Rs 1,19,999, which is Rs 10,000 more than it cost at launch. So you would pay extra for a phone that is about to be replaced.

Below, we cover the China price, the India timeline, the specs that changed and the catch. Then we tell you plainly who should buy, who should wait and who should skip.

The Short Version

  • India price: not announced. Reports expect Rs 1.3 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh.
  • China price: about Rs 1,00,000 for 12GB + 256GB at today’s exchange rate.
  • Global launch: 27 October in Europe, with sales from 5 November.
  • India date: not confirmed. Reports say late October to November.
  • Our call: do not buy the X300 Pro at Rs 1,19,999 now. Wait a few weeks.

What vivo Has Actually Confirmed

vivo launched the X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max in China on 21 September. In addition, the company has now set a launch in Europe for 27 October at 4 PM CET, which is 8:30 PM in India.

According to tech-ish, pre-orders open that day and sales start on 5 November. Meanwhile, Gizbot reports the same dates and says vivo has not confirmed whether India is part of the first wave.

So the global date is firm, but the India date is not. Everything about India below is reported, not official.

vivo X500 Pro Max Price in India: What to Expect

Right now, the China price is the only hard number. Its base 12GB + 256GB model costs about Rs 1,00,125 at today’s rate, Smartprix works out. Meanwhile, the 16GB + 512GB model is about Rs 1,21,580.

Still, India prices rarely match a straight conversion. Fossbytes reports an expected India price of Rs 1.3 lakh to Rs 1.4 lakh. On the other hand, Digit expects about Rs 1.5 lakh.

Both reports point the same way. In short, plan for at least Rs 1.3 lakh.

The history supports that. For example, the X300 Pro launched in India at Rs 1,09,999 for 16GB + 512GB, as ETV Bharat reported. Then vivo raised it to Rs 1,19,999 in July.

The Specs That Changed

The X500 Pro Max is a real step up on paper. Here is how it lines up against the phone you can buy today.

vivo X500 Pro Max (China)
vivo X300 Pro (India)
Chip
Dimensity 9600 Pro (2nm)
Dimensity 9500 (3nm)
Memory
12GB + 256GB base
16GB + 512GB only
Battery
8,000mAh
6,510mAh
Charging
90W wired, 40W wireless
90W wired, 40W wireless
Price
Expected Rs 1.3 lakh or more
Rs 1,19,999

The biggest change is the zoom camera. The Pro Max uses a 200MP Samsung HP0 sensor behind a 3.5x periscope lens, as both tech-ish and Fossbytes list. Moreover, the battery grows by about 1,500mAh in the China model.

The chip moves to a 2nm process too. In addition, all three X500 phones carry IP68 and IP69 ratings and run OriginOS 7 on Android 17.

The Catch

There are two catches, and both are worth knowing before you wait.

First, the battery may shrink outside China. European listings show the Pro Max at about 6,800mAh rather than 8,000mAh, Gizbot reports. India got the full 6,510mAh battery on the X300 Pro, though, so India may well follow China again.

Second, the smaller X500 Pro may not come here. Both Fossbytes and Digit say it could stay a China-only phone. So if you wanted a compact vivo flagship, India may only get the big one.

Why the X300 Pro Is a Poor Buy at Rs 1,19,999

The X300 Pro is still a very good phone. However, the price is the problem.

Today, Flipkart and Amazon list it at Rs 1,19,999, according to Beebom. With a Rs 4,000 Axis or SBI card cashback, it comes to Rs 1,15,999. That is still Rs 6,000 above its own launch price.

Meanwhile, the hike happened on 24 July, as My Mobile India reported. vivo never formally announced it.

As a result, you would pay a premium for last year’s chip just weeks before its successor arrives. Older flagships also tend to get cheaper once the new one lands, not dearer.

Who Should Buy, Wait or Skip

Wait if you want a vivo camera flagship and can hold on until late November. You will either get the X500 Pro Max or a better deal on the X300 Pro. Either way, you win.

Buy the X300 Pro now only if your phone is broken and a bank offer brings it close to Rs 1 lakh. At Rs 1,15,999 or more, it is the wrong buy.

Skip both if your budget stops near Rs 1 lakh. A Rs 1.3 lakh phone is a stretch, and rival flagships such as the OPPO Find X10 and the iQOO 16 are due in the same window.

If I were buying today, I would wait. The zoom camera alone is a big enough jump to justify a few weeks of patience.

How It Fits vivo’s India Lineup

vivo has had a busy October in India. It launched the vivo X Fold 6 earlier this month at a much higher price.

The X500 Pro Max would sit below that foldable but above every other vivo phone. So it would be vivo’s main camera flagship in India until the next foldable.

Quick Answers

What is the vivo X500 Pro Max price in India? It is not announced yet. Reports expect Rs 1.3 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh for the base model.

When will the vivo X500 Pro Max launch in India? vivo has not given a date. The global launch is 27 October, and reports point to late October or November for India.

Will the vivo X500 Pro come to India? It may not. Two reports say the smaller Pro could stay in China.

Should I buy the vivo X300 Pro now? Not at Rs 1,19,999. Wait for the X500 launch, or for a deal close to Rs 1 lakh.

The Bottom Line

The X500 Pro Max looks like a clear upgrade, mainly for zoom photos and battery. Therefore, paying Rs 1,19,999 for the X300 Pro today makes little sense.

Still, a lot is unknown. vivo has not confirmed the India price, the India date, the India battery size or whether the X500 Pro comes here. We will update this page once vivo India announces them.
