iOS 27.3 Health App: The Best New Features Are Here
The iOS 27.3 Health app is back in beta 1 with Insights, Longevity and Health Age. See what is new, which iPhones are likely and the India status.

The iOS 27.3 Health app is back. Apple released iOS 27.3 beta 1 on 3 November 2026, and it restores the redesigned Health app that 9to5Mac reports first appeared in the iOS 27.2 beta.
That matters if you carry an iPhone in India. The redesign adds a Longevity tab, a “Health Age” score and camera-based movement checks. However, Apple has not said when Indian users will get all of it.
This guide covers what is new, who can use it, and whether you should install the beta now.
The Short Version
- What is new: Two new tabs, Insights and Longevity, plus at-home movement checks.
- Beta status: iOS 27.3 beta 1 landed on 3 November 2026. It is not the final release.
- Release timing: 9to5Mac says the app ships to all users “next month”, which points to December.
- India catch: Apple has said the redesign starts in U.S. English. No India date is confirmed.
- Our advice: Wait for the final release unless you test betas on a spare iPhone.

What Is New in the iOS 27.3 Health App?
The redesign changes how you read your own data. Instead of a long list of metrics, you get two summary tabs.
Insights pulls heart, sleep, readiness, fitness, vitals and cycle tracking data into one view. A “For You” section adds personal suggestions and short educational pieces.
Longevity shows long-term trends. It covers heart health, sleep, mental wellbeing, movement, metabolic health, hearing and nutrition. So you see the slow changes, not just today’s numbers.
Its headline number is “Health Age”. It uses Apple Watch data such as VO2 max, resting heart rate, sleep and heart rate variability. You can also add lab results, for example A1c and LDL cholesterol.
That last part is useful. Many Indians already carry lab reports from routine checkups. Having them next to your heart and sleep trends is a real step up.
Can the iOS 27.3 Health App Check Your Movement at Home?
Yes. This is the most unusual new feature. You can measure flexibility, strength, balance, movement mechanics and VO2 max using your iPhone camera and an Apple Watch.
According to 9to5Mac, the analysis runs on the device. It also says no video is recorded, stored or shared. That is Apple’s privacy claim, and it is worth checking once the final release arrives.
Here is how the pieces fit:
Feature | Needs Apple Watch? | Where it runs |
|---|---|---|
Insights tab | Better with one | Your iPhone |
Longevity tab and Health Age | Yes, for most inputs | Your iPhone |
At-home movement checks | Yes, plus the iPhone camera | On the device, per the report |
Lab result entry | No | Your iPhone |
The table reflects what the reports describe. Apple has not published a full requirements list for the beta yet.
Which iPhones Will Get the iOS 27.3 Health App?
Apple has not confirmed a device list. However, recent coverage points to a likely cutoff. Reports say the redesign leans on Apple Intelligence, so an iPhone 15 Pro or newer is the safer bet. Treat that as a reported expectation, not an official rule.
If you own an older iPhone, you should still get iOS 27.3 itself. You may simply miss some Health features.
Prices matter here, because the upgrade question is really about money. For example, our look at the iPhone 17 Pro Max at Rs 66,990 shows how far a flagship can drop in a sale. That could be the cheapest way into the newest Health features.
Why Did the iOS 27.3 Health App Disappear Before?
The redesign is not new to testers. It first showed up in the iOS 27.2 beta in September. Then iOS 27.2 beta 4 removed it, as MacRumors reported.
MacRumors also reported on 12 October that Apple still plans to roll out the redesign in 2026. It said the app would not arrive with iOS 27.2 and would come in a later update, expected before the holidays.
That timeline now makes sense. iOS 27.2 shipped without the redesign. We covered that release in our iOS 27.2 safety check. Now iOS 27.3 brings the Health app back.
Will the iOS 27.3 Health App Work in India?
This is the key question for our readers, and the honest answer is: not confirmed.
MacRumors reported that the redesign will first be available in U.S. English. Apple had not said when other languages would follow. The 9to5Mac report on beta 1 lists wider language support, including global English, Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese.
No Indian language appears on that list. Whether “global English” covers India is something Apple has not spelled out. So treat India availability as unknown for now.
Two other things are also unconfirmed:
- Whether any feature will need a paid subscription.
- Whether lab-result features and Health Age will launch in India on day one.
Apple often rolls health features out country by country. That is why we would not expect everything at launch.
Should You Install the iOS 27.3 Beta for the Health App?
Not on your main phone. Betas can break apps, drain battery and bring bugs. The Health app is the sort of thing you want to be stable, because it holds years of personal data.
Here is a simple guide by type of buyer:
- Daily-driver iPhone owner: Wait. The final version should arrive around December.
- Apple Watch owner who loves health data: Wait, then try it. You get the most from Longevity.
- Spare-iPhone tinkerer: Go ahead and test the beta, and back up first.
- Planning to buy a new iPhone: Do not buy only for this app. Compare sale prices first. The iPhone 18 release date leak may also change your timing.
What to Watch Next
Watch for three things over the coming weeks.
First, further betas. Apple removed the app once already, so it could change again. Second, an official device list. Third, any word on India and other languages.
We will update this post when Apple confirms more.
Conclusion
The iOS 27.3 Health app is the biggest Health redesign in this cycle. Insights, Longevity and at-home movement checks are genuinely new. However, the India picture is unclear, and the app is still in beta.
So hold off on installing it on your main phone. Wait for the December release and Apple’s India details.
Would you use a “Health Age” score from your iPhone, or does that feel like too much data for one app? Tell us in the comments.
