Pixel 10a Price Hike: Why India Already Pays More and What You Need to Know Now

The Pixel 10a price just rose by $100 in the US. In India, Google's own store already charges Rs 55,999 while Flipkart sells it for far less.

Google quietly raised the Pixel 10a price in the US this week. The phone now starts at $599 there, up from $499.

However, India has a twist. Google’s own India store already lists the phone at Rs 55,999, which is Rs 6,000 above the launch price. Meanwhile, Flipkart sells the same phone for Rs 47,499.

So here is what changed, what did not, and where you should and should not buy a Pixel 10a this week.

The Short Version

  • US hike: the 128GB Pixel 10a went from $499 to $599. The 256GB model now costs $699.
  • Google Store India: Rs 55,999 for the 8GB and 256GB model. That is Rs 6,000 over the Rs 49,999 launch price.
  • Flipkart today: Rs 47,499, with the MRP still shown as Rs 49,999.
  • Big Billion Days: an effective Rs 39,999, but only with both a bank offer and an exchange.
  • Our advice: do not buy from the Google Store. Also, do not wait long if you want this phone.
  • Not confirmed: whether Flipkart’s price will rise after the sale. Google has said nothing.

What Changed With the Pixel 10a Price

The new price went live on Google’s US store without any announcement. GSMArena reports that the 128GB model now costs $599, and the 256GB model costs $699.

That is a $100 jump on the base model. Notably, the phone itself has not changed at all.

Google has not explained the move. Android Police points to the global shortage of memory chips, which has pushed up RAM and storage costs for every phone maker.

In addition, the timing is telling. The hike came one day after Samsung raised Galaxy S26 prices in the US and other markets. We covered the Galaxy S26 price hike in India last month.

India Already Paid This Hike

Here is the part most reports miss. For Indian buyers, the hike is old news.

The Pixel 10a launched here at Rs 49,999 for the single 8GB and 256GB model. Then, in late May, Cashify reported that Google had raised its store listing to Rs 55,999 overnight.

That price has stuck. We checked the Google Store India page on 5 October, and it still shows Rs 55,999.

In other words, the US is now catching up with India. As a result, nobody knows if India will see a second increase.

Where the Pixel 10a Is Cheaper Today

The good news is that other stores never followed Google. Back in May, Cashify noted that Flipkart and Croma still showed Rs 49,999.

Today, the gap is even wider. The Flipkart listing shows Rs 47,499, with an MRP of Rs 49,999 and a bank offer of Rs 2,500 on top.

Therefore, Flipkart is Rs 8,500 cheaper than Google’s own store before any card offer. That is a huge gap for the same sealed phone.

However, treat that figure with care. Flipkart prices move often, and the page labels it the lowest price “for you”. Your price may differ slightly.

The Big Billion Days Price, and Its Catch

Flipkart’s sale makes the gap bigger still. Cashify reports a sale listing of Rs 47,999 for the Pixel 10a.

On top of that, you get Rs 4,000 off with a bank card and Rs 4,000 extra on exchange. Together, those bring the effective price to Rs 39,999.

But look closely at the listing. The reported sale price of Rs 47,999 is Rs 500 higher than what Flipkart shows today.

So the sale does not really cut the sticker price. Instead, the whole saving comes from the bank and exchange offers. Without an old phone to trade in, you will pay more than Rs 39,999.

Even so, the best case is Rs 16,000 below Google’s own price. That gap is hard to ignore.

Is the Pixel 10a Worth It After the Hike?

It depends entirely on what you pay. The Pixel 10a still runs the Tensor G4, a chip from 2024.

At Rs 39,999, that is easy to forgive. You get clean Android, a reliable camera and long software support.

At Rs 47,499, it is a fair buy for Pixel fans. Still, rivals at this price offer faster chips and quicker charging.

At Rs 55,999, we would not recommend it. For that money, an older chip makes no sense.

There is also the next model to think about. The Pixel 11a leak points to a much newer Tensor G6 chip, with a launch expected in spring 2027.

Should You Buy Now or Wait?

Buy in the sale if you want a Pixel 10a and have a phone to exchange. Rs 39,999 is the best price anyone has reported so far.

Buy on Flipkart today if you have no exchange phone. In that case, the sale adds little beyond a bigger bank offer.

Do not buy from the Google Store. Rs 55,999 is simply too much, and nothing extra comes in the box.

Wait if your current phone works fine. However, waiting carries a risk this year. Memory costs are still climbing, and we explained why smartphone prices are rising in an earlier post.

Quick Answers

Did the Pixel 10a price go up in India this week?

No. The new hike is in the US. However, the Google Store India price already rose to Rs 55,999 in May.

What is the cheapest Pixel 10a price in India right now?

Flipkart shows Rs 47,499 today. The reported Big Billion Days price is an effective Rs 39,999 with bank and exchange offers.

Why did Google raise the price?

Google has not said. Reports blame rising memory chip costs, which have hit every phone brand this year.

Will Flipkart raise its price too?

Nobody knows yet. Flipkart has held below Rs 50,000 since launch, but that could change after the sale.

The Bottom Line

The Pixel 10a price story in India is really about where you shop. The same phone costs Rs 55,999 at Google and Rs 47,499 at Flipkart, so the store matters more than the hike.

Still, plenty is unknown. Google has not confirmed why it raised prices, or whether India will see another increase. We also do not know if Flipkart will hold its price after the festive sales end.

For now, the safest move is simple. If you want this phone, buy it during the sale, and skip the Google Store.
